Correcting bites without headgear

What is it?
The Carriere Motion Appliance is an orthodontic device developed to correct a bite without removing permanent teeth that have erupted incorrectly. The effects are similar to headgear but does not require a bulky or embarrassing appliance.
How does it work?
The appliance pushes upper teeth back to create a corrected bite prior to braces.
- First, your orthodontist creates an anchor point on a lower back molar. Then a straight bar is attached to the upper teeth on both sides of your mouth.
- An elastic band will be attached from the upper bar to the lower anchor to adjust the bite.
When the elastics are worn regularly, your bite can be corrected in just a few months, depending on the severity of your case.
